1) Development Officer (full time)

Job Summary: Job Summary: The Development Officer works closely with the CEO to develop and implement strategy for major gift donor relationship management (manage, nurture, upgrade) to meet Mid-South Food Bank short and long-term goals.  The primary objective of the Development Officer is to increase financial donations to Mid- South Food Bank and develop long-term relationships built on a firm understanding of donors’ interests, passions and values.

Responsibilities:  

Relationship Management and Solicitation ·Oversee and manage all aspects of the major gifts program for Mid-South Food Bank, to include solicitation of new donations and supervising annual gifts of $5,000 or more from all financial supporters of the Mid- South Food Bank. ·Oversee and manage, with the exception of the direct mail program,  donations and gifts of less than $5,000 to include solicitation of new donations and upgrading current donors to the major gift category.  The activity relating to these under $5,000 donations should comprise approximately 20% of the Development Manager’s time. ·Establish and maintain a donor cultivation cycle and gift stewardship program to ensure that new major donors are developed, have opportunities to increase their level of support annually, and enjoy a close relationship with the Mid-South Food Bank. ·Develop strategic funding requests based on immediate and long term funding goals of the organization for high net worth individuals and corporations as appropriate. ·Responsible for researching, cultivating, soliciting and closing all major gifts in his or her portfolio and for equipping and prompting the CEO. ·Manage relationship management process for individual major gift donors including conducting prospect solicitation briefings with primary relationship managers and volunteer solicitors. · Cultivate and expand current giving by planned gift donors and integrate planned gift objectives into major individual donor requests in collaboration with the CDO. ·Lead the prospect management process and serve as primary liaison with Major Gifts Committee. Work with this committee to develop levels of support. Develop strategies to facilitate personal solicitation of prospects by committee members. 

Cultivation and Stewardship ··         

Write gift proposals and stewardship reports as needed. ·         Assist in developing strategies, and adapting existing strategies to ensure regular stewardship of donors. This includes thank you campaigns, investor reports, email blasts, as well as new ideas for how we can keep donors (prospects) informed.

Monitoring and Reporting 

·Monitor weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual activity to achieve gift revenue goals. ·Provide regular reporting on the gifts program to the senior leadership team. ·Manage donor records management and administration as well as data and trend analysis in an accurate and timely manner. · Prepare and submit accurate and timely monthly activity reports to senior leadership. ·Work within assigned database and maintain accurate, complete and timely donor records.

Qualifications: ·Bachelor’s degree ·5-7 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, major gift experience preferred; ·Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively; ·Results oriented and strong attention to follow through; ·Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision; ·Strong writing and oral communication skills; comfortable with diverse groups of people; ·Microsoft Office Suite computer skills; ·Experience with constituent relationship management system; ·Attention to detail and strong project management skills; ·Strong sense of customer service  and  demonstrate the ability to respond with urgency to the needs and requests of others, internally and externally and ensure a high degree of responsiveness to all donors without regard to their giving level; ·Ability to work as part of a team; ·Professional attitude and appearance; ·Willingness and ability to adjust to changing conditions or priorities; ·Take the initiative to identify and act on problems and lead by example. 2) Warehouse Manager (full time)

Job Summary: Responsible for all aspects of warehouse operations, inventory management, safety, security, housekeeping, sanitation, maintenance of facilities and equipment as well as staffing and employee development.  Duties include scheduling warehouse services, directing assignments, maintaining inventory controls and recordkeeping, ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures, managing efficient operations in all areas, overseeing warehouse personnel.

Responsibilities: ·Warehouse Operations Ensure the safe, efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facilities and equipment. Plan and schedule all warehouse services including appropriately receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned and/ or damaged goods, reclamation,  maintenance, and administrative activities to ensure Mid-South Food Bank and Feeding America requirements are met in an efficient manner. Direct and oversee job assignments and plan daily labor schedules.  Make recommendations to senior management on programs to improve operations. Audit operations to ensure service standards are being met. Continually maintain professional and courteous relationships and communication with all donors. Maintain working relationships that ensure the success of Food Bank programs. This includes maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with community representatives, volunteers, Food Bank management and staff. ·Inventory Management Develop and maintain a space utilization plan to meet prescribed cost and efficiency standards.  Monitor the space layout plan regularly to ensure it continues to meet Feeding America standards.  Develop and implement an effective product locator system and update as necessary. Ensure current and accurate inventory control for all products.  Using the FIFO (first-in-first-out) system, ensure the inventory is wholesome and useable. Maintain accurate inventory counts and complete reports as requested. Assure that orders are picked, staged, and/or shipped in a timely fashion within prescribed cost levels.  Develop and maintain an effective receiving operation that minimizes cost and ensures receiving and receipting of paperwork is processed accurately and promptly.  Follow Feeding America reporting requirements. ·Implementation of Safety, Security, Housekeeping, and Sanitation Programs Ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment, and property.  Provide safety instruction to personnel as needed (formal/informal).  Complete required reports for all work-related injuries and submit management immediately.  Provide immediate medical attention to injured employees as necessary.  Assure compliance with appropriate government regulations.  Maintain sanitation program by ensuring daily cleaning and rodent and pest control procedures are followed. ·Maintenance of the Facilities and Equipment   Develop and maintain procedures to ensure efficient operation and utilization of all Food Bank equipment.  Monitor the cleanliness and working conditions of all equipment including but not limited to freezers, coolers, forklifts, and pallet jacks.  Oversee all equipment adjustments and/or repair as necessary.  On a monthly basis, report utilization to management. Adjust the quantity and type of equipment to meet business needs and minimize costs.  Develop and implement an equipment maintenance program. ·Staffing and Employee Development Manage the operations of warehouse personnel to achieve prescribed objectives.  Develop and maintain a productive work team by supporting the Food Bank’s policies for hiring, training, and professional development.  Match the skills and backgrounds of personnel to the work required.  Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, maintain programs to supervise, counsel, and discipline subordinates.  Maintain an appropriate performance evaluation system for recommending promotions, wage increases, and terminations. ·Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: ·At least two (2) years of  college; a minimum of five (5) years in a warehouse environment; food warehousing and training desired ·Experience in warehousing management and broad knowledge of warehouse operations ·Ability to maintain organized and detailed records ·A broad range of management skills with particular emphasis on leadership, supervision, motivation, communication, planning, team building and multi-tasking ·Proficiency in Microsoft Word and database management/inventory control software ·Strong communications skills.  Excellent oral and written skills ·Ability to pass a Safe Food Handling certification course · Forklift certification ·Acceptance of philosophy of food banking.

3) Warehouse Reclamation Handler

Responsibilities: Receive, inspect and properly weigh and/or count all incoming salvage ·Accurately scan products into data system and meet minimum production goals ·Properly clean, presort, pack and label product for distribution to partner agencies ·Maintain orderly and clean work area in compliance with Food Bank safety and sanitation policies; ensure that the warehouse facility meets Memphis and Shelby County Health Department guidelines by assisting in daily cleaning as well as the maintenance ·Maintain working relationships that ensure the success of Food Bank programs.  This includes maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with donors, volunteers, agency representatives, Food Bank management and staff ·Assure completion of daily duties within the Reclamation area are completed prior to working warehouse duties as assigned by the warehouse manager. ·Assist and work to sort and pack various products, including but not limited to meats, assorted cans, assorted non-perishables, bakery, produce and bulk packed products. ·Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: ·High school diploma or equivalent ·Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to write legibly and perform basic math ·Demonstrated attention to detail, knowledge of good record keeping procedures and the ability to maintain accurate and legible records ·Prior warehouse, production, food service experience preferred ·Ability to operate a forklift and a manual or powered pallet jack, forklift certification a plus ·Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time ·Ability to successfully complete a Safe Food Handling Course ·Ability to work at a fast pace ·Ability to work well with donor, volunteers, agency representatives, volunteers, senior aides and other Food Bank staff ·Acceptance of philosophy of food banking

4) Retail Store Donation Coordinator

Job Summary: Duties include calling on retail grocery stores in support of the store donation program, educating store personnel on their program’s donation guidelines, attending store meetings and store training sessions, monitoring and reporting donation progress to store managers, district managers and program coordinators, and managing the donor recognition program.

Responsibilities· Relationship Management and Solicitation ·Oversee and manage all aspects of a new major gifts program for Mid-South Food Bank, to include solicitation of new donations and supervising relationship development of annual gifts of $1,000 or more from qualified supporters of Mid- South Food Bank.  The activity relating to donations of $1,000 - $5,000 should comprise approximately 20% of the Development Officer’s time. ·Create a personal contact and ask plan that takes into account the individual donor’s interests, motivations, giving patterns and ask preferences for each donor on his/her caseload, in a timely and cost-effective manner, and retains and upgrades donors. ·Qualify and affirm an approved portfolio of donors that represent the highest giving potential for the organization and create reasonable financial goals for each donor, based on the donor’s giving and the potential. ·Secure project and organization information and create and write compelling proposals and asks. Secure information (qualitative and quantitative) that can be sent back to donors to report on how their money was used. ·Research development, gift procurement and stewardship of all major gifts. ·Cultivate and expand current giving by planned gift donors and integrate planned gift objectives into major individual donor requests. Assure coordinated efforts with requests for capital campaign.

5) Warehouse Worker (Dudley Warehouse)

Responsibilities: ·Receive, inspect and properly weigh and/or count all incoming products ·Accurately pull orders for pickup and delivery ·Load delivery orders and unload shipments as needed ·Maintain orderly and clean work area in compliance with Food Bank safety and sanitation policies; ensure that the warehouse facility meets Memphis and Shelby County Health Department guidelines by assisting in daily cleaning as well as the maintenance of the outside perimeters ·Maintain working relationships that ensure the success of Food Bank programs.  This includes maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with donors, volunteers, agency representatives, Food Bank management and staff ·Other duties as assigned.
